NVIDIA, one of the most successful companies in the AI space, has announced its new Cosmos world models, which are designed to give new capabilities to robotics and AI agents.
The most prominent announcement is the Cosmos Reason AI model. This 7-billion-parameter reasoning, vision, and language model can be used in AI applications and robots. It will provide advanced abilities to robots and AI agents.

Cosmos Reason is not the only product in the new series. The company also introduced the Cosmos Transfer models. Specifically, the Cosmos Transfer-2 model has the ability to accelerate the generation of synthetic data from 3D simulation scenes or spatial control inputs.
In simpler terms, the new Cosmos world models can create synthetic text, image, and video datasets. This data will then be used to train robots and AI agents. For example, Cosmos Reason will help robots reason and plan their next steps, thanks to its memory and understanding of physics.
Finally, the company also unveiled neural systems that include a visualization technique, allowing developers to use sensor data to simulate the real world in 3D. This system will be integrated into the open-source simulator CARLA and used to create virtual worlds.
